Treating yourself to a new mattress but not sure which way to go?
This Zenhaven vs. Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe comparison will break down an all-natural, all-foam product created by Saatva, an eco-friendly company that believes in high-quality products at affordable prices. We’ll also detail a cooling hybrid mattress by Brooklyn Bedding, a family-founded company based out of Arizona.
This article brings you a side-by-side comparison, but we suggest you also take a quick peek at each in-depth review to learn more about these two great beds.

120 nightsWho I’d Recommend the Zenhaven For
- Indecisive shoppers – The Zenhaven is a flippable bed with a medium-soft and firm comfort setting. We think this customization is great for those unsure of which firmness and feel they’d prefer.
- Fans of foam mattress – This all-foam bed should provide a deep cradle that offers soothing pressure relief. Despite its all-foam design, the Zenhaven has good bounce to help prevent sleepers from getting “stuck” in the bed, and the cotton and wool cover helps prevent overheating.
- People with allergies – The Zenhaven is crafted with all-natural materials and is naturally hypoallergenic, which could be great for those with allergies. The bed is treated with Guardin™, Saatva’s exclusive antimicrobial treatment, which helps prevent mold, bacteria, and mildew growth. preventing mold, bacteria, and mildew growth.
Who I’d Recommend the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe For
- Shoppers who want a choice of comfort options – The Aurora Luxe is available in Soft, Medium, or Firm so buyers can choose the feel that works best for their sleeping style.
- Hot sleepers – The copper and cooling gels infused into these foams combine with the GlacioTex™ cooling cover and breathable coil unit in a design that’s meant to regulate temperature and help hot sleepers achieve a good night’s sleep. Plus, our lead mattress tester, Julia, rated the Aurora Luxe well for cooling when she tried out this mattress first-hand.
- Hybrid fans – The upper levels of this bed feature pressure-relieving foams that should gently cradle the body. The lower coils should provide ample bounce and support. “[The] springback is excellent, pretty much instantaneous,” said Julia.
Comparing Zenhaven vs. Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe: Top Similarities
- Versatility – With the Zenhaven’s dual-sided design and the Aurora Luxe’s choice of three comfort options, we think both beds offer versatility in their own unique ways.
- Cooling surface – Both beds come with their own cooling mechanisms. The Zenhaven’s quilted cover features organic cotton and wool, which are naturally cooling and moisture-wicking. The cover of the Aurora Luxe incorporates GlacioTex™ technology, which contains cool tech fibers that dissipate heat on contact.
- Responsiveness – Although the Aurora Luxe is bouncier than the Zenhaven, we found both mattresses to have responsive top layers, which should make it easier for combination sleepers and people with mobility issues to move around.
Comparing Zenhaven vs. Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe: Key Differences
- Environmental impact – Saatva’s Zenhaven mattress uses sustainably sourced, natural, and organic materials in its construction, while Brooklyn Bedding uses synthetic materials in the Aurora Luxe. Shoppers looking to reduce their environmental impact on the planet might prefer the Zenhaven.
- Price – The Zenhaven comes at a higher price point than the Aurora Luxe. This is actually surprising since hybrids are often more costly than all-foam models, though Zenhaven is from Saatva, a luxury mattress brand.
- Trial and warranty – Brooklyn Bedding offers a 120-night trial and a 10-year warranty with their Aurora Luxe, while Saatva provides a more generous 365-night trial and lifetime warranty with the Zenhaven.
Comparing Firmness, Support & Feel
Firmness
Our firmness scale goes from 1 to 10, with 1 being the softest. We rated the Luxury Plush side of the Zenhaven at a 4.5, which should feel like a medium to medium-soft. The Gentle Firm option holds a firm-feeling score of 7. The Aurora Luxe comes in Soft, Medium, and Firm, and we’ve reviewed the Medium, which holds a score of 6.5 and should feel medium-firm to most shoppers.
Support
With its dual-sided design and zoned support, the Zenhaven caters well to a variety of sleepers. Our reviewer, Stuart, thinks the Luxury Plush side should perform best for side sleepers and lighter-weight sleepers, while the Gentle Firm side may work well for stomach sleepers and heavier individuals.
The Aurora Luxe Medium also features zoned support in its coil unit, which we found offered fantastic support. In fact, Julia rated the Aurora Luxe a 5 out of 5 for support. However, we think exceptionally heavyweight sleepers might prefer the Firm option, and lighter sleepers may prefer the Soft.
Feel
The Zenhaven is delivered full-size, while the Aurora Luxe arrives compressed in a box, so you may experience some temporary off-gassing, which can be unpleasant for those sensitive to smells.
We found both covers feel soft to the touch, and both mattresses feel responsive as soon as you lie on them. Emma, who also reviewed the Aurora Luxe, was impressed at how cool to the touch the cover was, and Stuart commented on how durable the Zenhaven’s cover felt.
Comparing Sinkage and Bounce
We think most people should experience a deep cradle on Zenhaven’s Luxury Plush setting and a gentle cradle on the Gentle Firm side. Our testers also experienced a gentle cradle on the Aurora Luxe Medium. So, if you’re looking for a deep hug feel, you may be better off checking out a memory foam mattress.
Stuart experienced a bit of bounce on the Zenhaven, but nothing like we experienced on the Aurora Luxe, which is a lot bouncier thanks to its coil unit. However, we found the latex in the Zenhaven was pretty quick to respond, so it should still work well for combination sleepers.
Comparing Motion Transfer
Beds with innerspring units often create a ripple effect across the mattress’ surface, which is known as motion transfer. However, we were impressed at how well the Aurora Luxe isolates motion, with Emma remarking, “With the individually-wrapped coils and the memory foam transition layer, motion isolation is superior on this bed.”
Regarding the Zenhaven, Stuart noted, “Overall, there’s a little motion transfer, but it’s pretty minimal and shouldn’t disturb somebody sleeping on the other half of the bed.”. Keep in mind that you may experience more motion transfer on the Gentle Firm side.
Comparing Cooling
The Zenhaven features a layer of moisture-wicking wool, along with natural latex, which doesn’t retain heat like memory foam can. does. “This is good news for those sleeping hot at night,” advises Stuart. “However, if this is a concern of yours, the shallower depth of the Gentle Firm will keep more of your body’s surface area exposed to the air, which can help you keep even cooler.”
The Aurora Luxe reigns supreme when it comes to cooling, with its GlacioTex™ cooling cover, copper-infused foam, gel foam, and breathable coil unit. When testing this bed, Emma actually found it a little too cold, so bear this in mind if you get chilly.

Zenhaven Construction
The Zenhaven is a double-sided mattress – we will approach the construction breakdown as though the Luxury Plush side is on the top, as it is more comparable to Brooklyn Aurora’s Medium option. This 10-inch bed starts with an organic cotton cover with a 1-inch organic wool fire barrier quilted into it for temperature regulation.
- The comfort layer consists of a 1.5-inch layer of five-zoned natural latex, which should provide pressure relief in some areas, with more firm support under the torso and shoulders.
- The second layer holds 3 inches of Talalay latex, which provides a softer feel, pressure relief, and a deep cradle.
- The third layer offers 3 inches of firmer Talalay latex that should offer a deep bounce on the Luxury Plush side and firm support on the Gentle Firm side.
- The base layer holds another 1.5-inch layer of five-zoned latex, acting as the top layer of the Gentle Firm side.

The poly-blend cover of this 13.25-inch hybrid mattress features GlacioTex™ technology, with cool tech fibers blended into it to prevent people from sleeping hot. This construction breakdown focuses on the Medium model of the Aurora Luxe.
- The top layer boasts 1.5 inches of CopperFlex™ foam. This latex alternative relies on copper gel to further promote temperature regulation.
- The second layer holds a medium Supreme Response Comfort Foam that’s 2 inches thick. This material is designed to adapt to your body, providing either support or pressure relief to suit your needs.
- The third layer consists of a gel swirl memory foam that’s an inch thick. This should deliver deep pressure relief and additional cooling.
- The fourth layer contains up to 1,032 pocketed Ascension® coils, which are zoned to provide support where it’s needed the most. Reinforced coils around the perimeter offer edge support.
