What makes the Great White North so great? Could it be the dedicated Canadian companies creating beds tailored to suit the exact needs of their Canadian customers?
That’s the Endy® promise. The company proudly sources and manufactures its all-foam mattresses by and for their fellow Canadians. The Canadian Chiropractic Association even endorsed the Endy mattress, making it the only Canadian bed with this credit.
Our review of the Endy® mattress will explore the construction of this item, along with how these materials should perform and who they are best suited for. We’ll also discuss the feel, motion control, support, and other important considerations of this mattress.

Who We Recommend The Endy For:
- Side sleepers – Shoppers should experience gentle pressure relief and moderate sinkage that reduces pushback in the hips and shoulders. This should allow most people who prefer the side sleeping position to experience good spinal alignment. Explore the best beds for side sleepers.
- People looking for a medium-soft feel – Most sleepers should find this bed to feel medium or medium-soft with plenty of contouring. Deeper level bounce and foams that reclaim their former shape should prevent people from getting stuck.
- People with allergies – The foams, cover, and adhesive used in this product are all certified to contain low levels of heavy metals, chemicals, or VOC emissions. The cover is also designed to be antimicrobial, which reduces allergens.
Who We Don’t Recommend The Endy For:
- Exclusive stomach sleepers – The extra softness may be the ticket for added pressure relief, but dedicated stomach sleepers may experience sinkage in the hips. A firmer product should promote a more neutral spine alignment, especially if you are substantially heavier.
- Hot sleepers – Endy has a four-way stretch cover that should help foster coolness, and the open-cell design of the Endy Comfort Foam should further keep things cool. However, extra-hot sleepers may prefer a mattress with more advanced cooling features, such as hybrids. The coils in hybrids can provide additional airflow throughout the bed’s center.
First Impressions: Firmness & Feel
Firmness Scale: 4.5-5/10
Please remember that firmness is a subjective characteristic and your shape will dictate how you experience a bed. A heavier person whose weight can more easily push through softer comfort and support layers may experience a bed as softer than a lightweight person. The way you are shaped could also play a role here. Consider your weight, shape, and size when evaluating firmness scores.
This bed scored 4.5-5 on our firmness comfort scale. Assuming that 1 is marshmallow soft and 10 is firmer than a brick, this would indicate that the mattress feels medium to medium-soft to most shoppers. How you specifically experience the feel of the bed will depend on your weight, shape, or position preference.
This firmness is excellent for side sleepers and lightweight back sleepers since they won’t sink too deeply to throw the spine out of alignment. People with pressure build-up should appreciate the softer feel that helps relieve the pressure and prevents it from building up again.
How Does It Feel?
Lying on the cover should feel soft and cozy. You should sink slightly into the upper comfort foam, feeling a lumbar supporting contour.
There is a minimal bounce in the upper layer, with a deeper bounce once you activate the middle layer. There should be a somewhat slower response from the foams as compared to some latex beds, but they reshape easily, especially when compared to classic memory foam. This allows you to reposition without feeling confined inside the moderate cradle.
What We Like About the Endy
- Excellent motion isolation – Much like most all-foam mattresses, the Endy has great motion isolation thanks to its many foam layers. In addition, the transition layer is specially designed to absorb motion, which makes this bed excellent for couples.
- Consistent feel – The Endy mattress maintains its firmness throughout the seasons, which means it won’t firm or soften with the weather changes.
- Washable cover – The cover is a blend of polyester and spandex, but what stands out the most is that it’s removable and machine-washable.
Our Endy Complaints
- Not for heavy people – Although the medium-soft feel should fit many people, heavy people may find it too soft. Heavier people will likely sink too much into the bed regardless of their preferred sleeping position. Plus, the Endy has a weight limit of 500 pounds, which might not be enough for heavier couples.
- Lack of edge support – All-foam mattresses usually hit or miss with edge support, more so if they’re as soft as this Endy mattress. The Endy lacks a bit in this category, so you may want to avoid sleeping on the edge of the bed.
Testing the Endy Mattress: How it Performed
The Endy mattress is a unique all-foam bed that remains medium-soft regardless of the outside temperature. We tested it in different positions to see how well it would fit stomach, side, and back sleepers. In addition, we tested the bed’s motion isolating and cooling properties, along with bounce, pressure relief, and support.
Sleeping Positions for Different Body Types
The company recommends a weight limit of 250 pounds for an individual person or 500 for couples. Shoppers with higher weight concerns will want to keep this in mind when choosing a new bed.
Side Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – Lightweight side sleepers should like the medium-soft feel. The upper layers allow just enough cradling to prevent the pressure from building up while their light weight stays without sinking too deeply.
- Average-Weight Sleepers – Average-weight side sleepers who prefer a deeper hug will like how the Endy mattress feels in the shoulders and hips area. However, those weighing closer to 230 may sink too deeply into the quilted cover and comfort foam underneath.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – People weighing over 230 pounds are likely to sink too deeply into the foam construction, which could make them feel trapped and throw the spine out of alignment.
Back Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – Lightweight back sleepers should feel on top of the mattress, which prevents the hips from sinking and helps achieve a healthy sleep posture.
- Average-Weight Sleepers – The Endy may feel a tad softer for people weighing closer to 200 pounds, but most average-weight back sleepers should receive a balance of pressure relief and support in the lumbar and shoulder area.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – Heavy people sleeping on their back might find the Endy too soft to support the hips.
Stomach Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – The Endy is likely to feel too soft for most lightweight sleepers sleeping on their stomach. However, those with a significantly lighter frame might still get enough support from the open-cell comfort layer.
- Average-Weight Sleepers – Average-weight stomach sleepers will find the upper layers too soft to support the hips in this position, especially those weighing closer to 230 pounds.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – The Endy has a medium-soft firmness that heavy sleepers may experience as even softer when sleeping on their stomach. As a result, sleeping this way can throw the spine out of alignment.
Pressure Relief & Pain
The Endy mattress is an excellent choice if you’re after a pressure-relieving bed. The medium-soft foams offer a deep hug, which should help relieve any pressure built up in the shoulders, hips, and knees. In some cases, the Endy bed’s softer construction can also be good for pain relief, but this very much depends on your sleeping style and body weight since maintaining good support is also a critical factor.
Back Pain – The Endy mattress could help with back pain by contouring the lumbar area and preventing pressure from building up. Light and average-weight people should experience ample support, which should help ease back pain and preventing it from re-emerging.
Hip Pain – Hip pain usually progresses when you sleep on the side, but Endy’s medium-soft construction should prevent this by cradling the hips. However, this this would only be beneficial for those weighing under 230 pounds.
Shoulder Pain – People with shoulder pain are advised to sleep on their back, but even those sleeping on their side should like how the Endy feels. The upper layers hug the shoulders without letting them sink too deeply.
Support
Although this mattress is on the softer side, it delivers both pressure relief and support at different levels. The last layer is made from high-density foam, adding structure and durability to the entire bed. The comfort foam has a softer feel, but the transition layer is firmer, preventing you from bottoming out and reaching the base.
Back and side sleepers should experience sufficient support, especially if they weigh 100 to 200 pounds. Those closer to 230 pounds and above might need a firmer bed for back and stomach sleeping because this model would be too soft to support the hips in this case.
Motion Transfer
Motion isolation is a crucial factor for many people who share their bed with a restless sleeper. One person tossing and turning can easily disturb the other unless the mattress absorbs the motion and prevents it from transferring from one side to the other.
The Endy mattress has good motion isolation capabilities as it’s made entirely out of foam. All-foam beds are usually good at this, and Endy doesn’t disappoint either. Although this bed is only 10 inches tall, you’re unlikely to feel so much of your partner changing positions.
Temperature Regulation / Cooling
Cooling and temperature regulation are both important for hot sleepers but also those who sleep in variable temperatures. The Endy mattress is made with Canadian weather in mind. In other words, the bed is designed to maintain its firmness regardless of the seasons, which means it won’t firm or soften as the temperatures change.
When it comes to cooling, the company included a breathable four-way stretch cover that allows some airflow to prevent heat build-up. In addition, the comfort layer is made from open-cell foam to further enhance breathability. Still, it’s an all-foam bed, so it may be too hot for some extremely hot sleepers.
Performance for Couples
Couples usually focus on good motion isolation but also a bit of bounce, which is why the Endy is a perfect match. This bed absorbs motion well enough and has some bounce that sexually active couples may appreciate.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that it doesn’t have the best edge support. This is important to note if you’re going for a smaller size because sleeping near the edge may not be as comfortable. In addition, the Endy has a weight limit of 500 pounds, which is another thing to consider for those who share a bed.

Preference-based Features
Motion Isolation
The foams inside this product should absorb most movement and vibration to reduce disruption due to restless partners. Most normal movements should go unnoticed, as only the middle layer offers bounce. This should be ideal for co-sleepers or people with restless pets.
Quilted Four-Way Stretch Cover
This quilted cover is stretchy and soft, which is excellent news for people with sensitive skin. There’s a zipper making it easy to remove the cover for washing, which is something you won’t see often in mattresses, regardless of the price point.
Good Bounce
Combination sleepers and people with mobility issues should appreciate the bounce coming from the middle foam layer. The bounce helps with repositioning and getting in and out of bed, but it also may benefit sexually active couples
Eco-Conscious Materials
The Endy mattress features eco-conscious materials certified by CertiPUR-US® and OEKO-TEX®. In addition, the adhesives in the mattress are GREENGUARD certified, indicating they have low levels of VOC emissions and chemicals.
Adjustable Base Compatible
This mattress is compatible with adjustable bases, allowing you to customize your sleeping position.
Construction: What’s Inside Endy?
This all-foam mattress is sourced, manufactured, and shipped within Canada. The company recommends a box spring or a slatted base with the slats no more than 3 inches apart. Additionally, you should avoid placing the mattress directly on the floor because this would prevent the air from circulating through the construction.
The Endy’s stretch-knit cover is a polyester and spandex blend that is micro-quilted to promote a breathable and hypoallergenic experience. The cover is removable and can be washed in a machine, but you should avoid tumble drying. Instead, the company recommends air drying the cover to avoid damage. The cover is white and grey, which gives this mattress a minimalistic look that’ll easily match different bed foundations.
This mattress is 10 inches tall. All the foams in this bed are designed to avoid softening or hardening as the environmental temperatures change. In other words, your Endy mattress should retain its firmness level throughout every season.
- The comfort layer has two inches of a proprietary polyurethane Endy® Foam. This material is meant to provide pressure relief and contouring while remaining temperature neutral.
- The transition layer contains a 3-inch High-Density Polyurethane Transitional Foam. This should prevent the sleeper from experiencing too much discomfort from the firmer support material below.
- The base layer consists of five inches of High-Density Polyurethane Support Foam. This foundation layer is meant to provide the proper support to promote a neutral spine alignment.
Unboxing & Off-Gassing
When you take this mattress out of the box it’s shipped in, you should remove the plastic flap to allow the mattress to unroll. Once it unrolls, you can place it on your bed foundation of choice. Use scissors to remove the plastic, but be careful not to damage the bed itself. The mattress will start decompressing and should reach its full comfort in approximately a week. Although you can sleep on it right away, it likely won’t feel as comfortable until it expands fully.
Much like most all-foam mattresses, this Endy model may have an odor to it. This is common for foam beds, especially those shipped in a box. Any smells should dissipate after 24 hours, but we suggest you let the mattress vent without bedding during this period.
Certifications
- Eco-Friendly Certifications – This product was certified by OEKO-TEX®, which evaluates textiles at all processing levels for acceptable levels of hazardous chemicals and flame retardants. It has a GREENGUARD Gold certification that reflects the product’s ability to meet some of the world’s most rigorous emissions standards. In addition, the foams in this bed are CertiPUR-US® certified. CertiPUR-US® is a third-party program that ensures the foams meet rigorous health and safety standards. This means they don’t contain harmful substances like ozone depleters, PBDEs, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates. They should also have low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Endy Mattress firm or soft?
The Endy mattress is medium to medium-soft and we rated it 4.5-5 out of 10 on our firmness scale. However, you may experience it as softer or firmer depending on how much you weigh and the position you prefer to sleep in.
What is the life expectancy of the Endy mattress?
With the right care and bed foundation, the Endy mattress should last 10 years. The bed should retain its density and firmness throughout the years, which means it’s unlikely to show any sagging earlier than 10 years.
Can you flip an Endy mattress?
The Endy mattress isn’t flippable. If you were to flip it, the comfort layer would be at the bottom while the base would be on top, which would throw off the entire feel of the mattress. Plus, this could shorten its lifespan.
What is the weight limit for the Endy mattress?
The company says the Endy mattress can support up to 500 pounds, which means 250 pounds per side if you’re going to share the bed with another person. Going over the limit may tamper with how the bed performs and could also lead to faster deterioration.

Overall Summary
This product should be a great fit for shoppers seeking pressure relief and a medium to medium-soft feel. Side sleepers should be particularly drawn to this item, especially if they weigh 100 to 230 pounds.
Side Sleepers
5/5
Side sleepers should experience this bed as comfortable and hugging, which should help relieve pressure and prevent it from building up. The mattress is on the softer side, so it should feel good in the most sensitive areas, such as the hips, shoulders, and knees.
Back Sleepers
4/5
This bed is a good option for most back sleepers, especially those weighing 100 to 230 pounds. Endy’s sturdy base layer supports the upper foam layers and prevents them from sinking in under your weight. However, heavier back sleepers may prefer a firmer mattress.
Stomach Sleepers
3/5
Stomach sleepers usually need a firmer bed to support the hips and shoulders. This memory foam mattress is medium-soft, which might not be enough to prevent your heaviest points from sinking into the upper layers. Significantly light people may find sufficient support, but the rest need a firmer bed.
Combination Sleepers
4/5
The Endy mattress should be good for combination sleepers as it allows easy repositioning and feels good in most positions. However, this very much depends on your weight. If you’re heavier, you may find it too soft, especially if you stay sleeping on your stomach for too long.
Couples
4/5
Couples looking for a softer bed should like Endy’s medium-soft foam construction. In addition, this bed offers excellent motion isolation, which is especially important if one partner is a restless sleeper. Edge support is a bit lacking, but this shouldn’t be a problem with bigger mattress sizes.
Heavy Sleepers
3/5
Significantly heavier people will likely find this mattress too soft to support their bodies in any position. Heavy side sleepers who prefer softer beds may like how it feels, but those who sleep on their back and stomach should go for a firmer mattress that can support the hips and shoulders.
Light-Weight Sleepers
5/5
Lightweight people are the ideal group for this Endy mattress, especially those sleeping on their back and side. The mattress has a plush cover and contouring comfort foam that hugs the body and allows maximum pressure relief, while also providing ample support for lightweight people.
Average Weight Sleepers
4/5
This Endy model should hug the body to relieve pressure in the shoulders and hips for those weighing 130 to 230 pounds. Average-weight people should sink in just enough while still getting sufficient support to keep the spine aligned.
Overall Value
4/5
Endy offers plenty of value with this foam bed designed to cradle the curves and prevent pressure buildup. The mattress is made from quality materials and features safety certifications that indicate it’s free of chemicals and toxins. The company adds even more value by offering a long trial and a 15-year warranty.
Our Verdict
Pressure relief, a moderate cradle, and enhanced motion control combine to create a comfortable bed for side or back sleepers who prefer a medium or medium-soft comfort feel. Canadian shoppers should enjoy this allergy-friendly all-foam bed.
After testing the Endy mattress, we think it’s a good choice for people looking for a soft bed that hugs the body in the most sensitive areas. Sleepers should feel a gentle cradle around the shoulders and hips with enough support to keep the spine straight. Overall, Endy is worth your attention if you’re a side and back sleeper weighing under 230 pounds.
