How Does It Feel?

Our Apollo Complaints
- It has little bounce – The Apollo mattress has micro-coils, but this may not be enough to bring as much bounce. In addition, thick memory foam layers above the coils cancel most of this bounce, which is why this bed may not be the best for people with limited mobility.
- Not for stomach sleepers – Although this mattress feels medium firm, this may not be firm enough for most stomach sleepers. Plus, most people are likely to experience a deep hug, which may throw the hips out of alignment, especially for people over 230 pounds.
Testing the Apollo Mattress: How it Performed
We tested the Apollo mattress to see how it would fit side, back, and stomach sleepers. The mattress combines pressure relief with support in a medium-firm feel that should feel good for most people. This mid-range firmness should be comfortable for average-weight sleepers as well as those who enjoy sleeping on their back.

Construction: What’s Inside the Apollo?
This bed is 12 inches tall, featuring four layers, two of which make up the bed’s base layer. The construction starts with a cool-to-the-touch cover with the brand’s PolarMAX™ technology. The cover is designed to wick moisture and draw body heat away from the mattress surface, maintaining a cool feel at all times. The best part is that you can remove the cover when it’s time to wash it.
- The comfort layer is two inches tall and is made of copper-infused memory foam. This layer has a slow response but offers a deep cradle for comfortable pressure relief in the hips and shoulders. - The base layer is made from two layers standing 7 inches tall. These two layers hold the upper layers together, ensuring everything is aligned at all times. The base foam offers head-to-toe support while also enhancing motion isolation.
Unboxing & Off-Gassing
Apollo is shipped in a box, so it’s easy to move from your door to the bedroom. Although the box is not as bulky, it can be heavy, so make sure to have someone help you set it up. Unboxing takes a few minutes, but you should first place the box on the mattress foundation of your choice. Once it’s out of the box, it takes up to 30 minutes to decompress, but it won’t reach its full comfort until 24 hours have passed.
Remember that you must keep the plastic bag it came in for the duration of the trial. If you decide to return the mattress, you’ll need to place it back in that bag.
