Who I’d Recommend the Nectar For
- Shoppers seeking affordable quality – The original Nectar model offers exceptional quality at a lower cost than the Nectar Premier. Therefore, those on a more limited budget will likely prefer this mattress.
- Couples – The Nectar has stronger edge support, which is an advantage for couples, who typically need more useable surface space to spread out.
- People who want more sinkage – This bed provides a traditional memory foam feel that lets you sink more into the layers.

Who I’d Recommend the Nectar Premier For
- Hot sleepers – One of the added benefits to getting the Premier is the addition of ActiveCool HD, a phase change material designed to adapt to your body temperature for ideal comfort.
- People who sleep alone – The Nectar Premier’s edges aren’t as strong, making this the better choice for solo sleepers who don’t need to spread out.
- People who want a thicker bed – While the Premier is only an inch higher than the Nectar, those who prefer a thicker mattress should consider this model.

Comparing Nectar vs Nectar Premier: Top Similarities
Pressure relief – The Nectar and Nectar Premier both utilize memory foam to provide exceptional pressure relief.
Great for side sleepers – As mentioned, these beds are adept at relieving pressure, which also makes them fantastic beds for exclusive side sleepers.
All-foam construction – Both mattresses are made of the same foams and do not contain coils.
Comparing Nectar vs Nectar Premier: Key Differences
Height – While the Nectar and Nectar Premier share a similar all-foam design, the middle foam layer in the Premier is an inch thicker, making this bed’s total profile slightly higher than the Nectar.
Cooling – The Nectar Premier sleeps cooler than the Nectar.
Price – The Nectar is going to cost you less than the Premier will.
Comparing Firmness, Support & Feel
Firmness
A mattress’ firmness is rated on a 1-10 scale. Ultra-soft beds will be closer to 1, whereas rock-hard beds will be closer to 10. Both of these mattresses fall in the medium-firm range, with the Nectar receiving a 6.5 rating and the Premier receiving a 6. This means the Nectar does offer slightly more firmness, which is evident in its stronger edges.
The great news for shoppers is that medium-firm beds fit most sleepers since the middle-ground feel is more versatile.
Support
The supportive layers in the Nectar and Nectar Premier are the middle and bottom conventional foams that are denser than the top memory foam unit. Most sleepers should feel adequately supported by each bed, but if you are exceptionally heavier, you may need something stronger, such as one of the brand’s newer hybrid options.
Nectar’s flagship model, however, does have the advantage over the Premier when it comes to support along the edges.
Feel
We found that the Nectar Premier provides lots of pressure relief to the hips and shoulders, making this the slightly better option for side sleepers. Since the Nectar is a little more firm, people with broader shoulders might feel uncomfortable while on their side.
Another major difference here is that the Nectar Premier feels cooler than the standard Nectar, so if you’re a hot sleeper, you’ll want to keep this in mind.
Comparing Sinkage and Bounce
Both of these mattresses are made with memory foam, so you should expect plenty of contouring and sinkage from each of them to help you manage pressure points. Those carrying more weight will likely find themselves sinking a bit more into the Premier, however, as it’s slightly softer.
Bounce is another mattress feature that’s important to certain shoppers, such as sexually active couples or those with limited mobility. While these Nectar beds have a more slow-moving feel that some may love, they have little to no bounce. However, the brand does provide hybrid versions of these beds now that come with coils to foster more bounce.

Comparing Motion Transfer
As mentioned above, the Nectar and Premier have almost no bounce in them, and while this may be a drawback to some people, it also means these products are great for eliminating motion transfer.
Often, people who sleep with a partner may find themselves awakened by the other person’s tossing and turning. However, a bed that isolates movement well can help the light sleeper rest more soundly.
The memory and poly foam construction in these mattresses help absorb movement so that couples are less likely to be disturbed at night.

Comparing Cooling
Each mattress is made with special cooling features, but this is also one of the main ways in which they differ. While the Nectar contains cooling gel in the memory foam and a heat-wicking cover, the Nectar Premier had the added advantage of ActiveCool HD in its memory foam layer.
ActiveCool HD is a phase-changing material that’s designed to adapt to the sleeper’s body temperature to help keep them as comfortable as possible. Between these two beds, we found that the Nectar Premier sleeps cooler. Therefore, if you are an extra-hot sleeper and need more advanced cooling, you’d be better off with the Premier.

Comparing Construction (Materials & Quality)
Nectar Construction
The 12-inch Nectar mattress comes with a poly-blend cover that promotes temperature regulation by allowing air to flow freely through. Quilted to this cover is a cooling gel memory foam. This softer foam gives the bed’s surface a more uniform appearance and plush feel.
- The top foam unit is made up of a 2-inch memory foam infused with gel. This comfort layer is designed to cradle the sleeper’s curves and reduce tension and strain. Meanwhile, the inclusion of gel in the foam help keep the material nice and cool.
- The middle unit is 4 inches of soft conventional foam. This slightly firmer layer not only provides extra support to the sleeper but also helps ease the individual into the dense foam base below.
- The base is 6 inches thick and is composed of a standard conventional foam that provides the bed with durability and keeps the sleeper well-supported.
Nectar Premier Construction
The Nectar Premier mattress is a total of 13 inches high, making it slightly thicker than the standard Nectar option. The cool-to-the-touch cover is made of premium fibers designed to draw heat away and foster more comfortable sleep.
- The comfort layer sits below the cooling cover and contains 3 inches of gel memory foam with ActiveCool HD. This unit offers a slow response and excellent pressure relief, which is ideal for side sleepers. Additionally, the gel foam provides cooling relief.
- The supporting layer is made of 3 inches of conventional foam. This material responds more quickly to pressure while delivering added support to keep the sleeper from sinking too deep.
- The base layer is created from 7 inches of high-density poly foam, giving the bed durable stability. This dense material offers plenty of support to keep your spine aligned and your hips elevated.
