The firmer side of the Layla bed doesn’t allow as much sinkage, supporting your body in alignment and making it easier to reposition.

The Nectar bed gets most of its support from the bottom two layers, which are firmer than the upper ones. This helps distribute your weight and keep everything aligned regardless of your preferred sleeping position.

Feel

Slow-responding memory materials in Nectar uniformly hug the full length of your body and the softer Layla’s 5 inches of comfort foam lets your body slowly sink into a deep cradling experience. Side sleepers should especially appreciate the pressure relief on offer from each choice because of their tendency to sleep with their weight more concentrated, which can cause pressure points to form.

Both beds have that classic memory foam feel, so if you’re a fan of body-hugging memory foam, you should enjoy either mattress.

Comparing Sinkage and Bounce

Comparing Cooling

Both models should be good for hot sleepers since they don’t run as hot as most memory foam beds. The Layla mattress has a cooling cover on both sides and copper- and gel-infused memory foam that helps draw body heat away from the mattress surface. In addition, the support layer contains tiny holes to promote airflow.

Nectar has a moisture-wicking cover similar to the one found on the Layla mattress. In addition, it has gel infusions in the memory foam to help prevent it from overheating. One thing to keep in mind is that neither bed has a cool-to-the-touch cover.

We also want to mention that while both mattresses sleep cooler than traditional foam beds, they won’t sleep as cool as a hybrid or innerspring mattress with coils (aka the best cooling material). If you’re an extra hot sleeper, we recommend opting for a coil-based mattress.

Layla Construction

The Layla starts off with a fully-removable cover made from a polyester blended with stretchy viscose and lycra. An infusion of cooling ThermoGel® helps regulate the surface temperature, but it’s not too cool to the touch.

• The top layer is a 3-inch piece of memory foam infused with copper that provides comfort and pressure relief. The copper contains properties that help conduct heat away from the body, keep the foam germ-free, and offer additional support where it is most needed.
• The second layer is convoluted for airflow, meaning its structure has dips and channels like egg crates. This 2-inch layer helps keep the temperature regulated and provides additional support and pressure relief for the sleeper.
• The third layer is the structural core of the bed that stands 4 inches thick and supports your spinal alignment.

Nectar Construction

Nectar’s cover is made of a breathable poly-blend material that is quilted to a layer of gel memory materials for added comfort and cooling. This helps draw body heat away from the bed’s surface. Altogether, the mattress stands 12 inches tall.

• The top layer is a 2-inch layer of memory materials that contour to your shape and are infused with gel to enhance temperature regulation.
• The second layer is made of soft, premium foam. This quick-responding 3-inch layer is slightly firmer and provides transitional support.
